These are a Few of my Favorite Things…

Hard Ware by: Misha Bell

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been so long in between reviews. Things were a bit crazy around the house here. A bathtub leak turned into a full-on bathroom remodel. Being as though we only have one bathroom, it’s been quite an ordeal.

Remember that exciting news I wanted to share with you all? Well, now I can. I signed a publishing contract with Next Chapter Publishing for my book Submitting to Him. I’m so excited that my book will be in your hands in the coming months. I can’t wait for you all to meet Alex and Natalie and share their sexy story.

This week’s book review is Hard Ware by Misha Bell. For those of you that don’t know, Misha Bell is the pen name for the writing team of Anna Zaires and Dima Zales. It’s their second book, and it is fantastic.

There are many romance books out there that are loosely based on fairy tales, but I never read one centered around Frozen until Hard Ware.

This romantic comedy opens with Russian-born Bella walking her Chihuahua, Boner, in Central Park at the same time Ruskovian born Dragomir is out walking Winnie, his Misha breed (bear-sized) dog. There’s an instant attraction for Bella, who’s in the middle of trying out her vibrating Kegel balls. At the same time, there’s an instant attraction for Boner, who gets away from Bella and, unexpectedly and unconventionally, mates with Winnie. (You’ll have to read to find out what happens with the Kegel Balls).

Bella is horrified by her dog’s behavior and her Kegel mishap. Dragomir is angry and insists on a full STD panel from Boner.

Fast forward to the human side of the story. Bella owns a sex toy company and is looking for funding for her next project, a VR suit to connect lovers from a distance. She enters the meeting room and discovers the funding company is owned by none other than Dragomir. Needless to say, complications arise.

Back to the doggie story… it seems little Boner, aka Stud, is going to be a father. This slight complication is just what the pair needs to have as an “ice breaker” to get together. Their attraction. and their competitive nature, is off the charts, but there is more than one complication, the biggest of which—they are both hiding information about themselves.

How does this book parallel Frozen? First of all, it’s Bella’s favorite movie, her go-to in all situations. What she doesn’t realize is it also parallels her story with Dragomir. As they get closer and learn more about each other, the parallels are revealed. Bella learns about herself and accepts and is proud of all the different parts that make up who she is.

When she learns about Dragomir’s hidden Ruskovian past, she’s initially devastated and feels betrayed. After a series of hilarious mishaps and a special event, Bella realizes Dragomir wasn’t lying about his past to deceive her; he wasn’t lying at all. With everything that happened with his family (more you’re going to have to read for yourself), the right time never came up. Also, she never told him about her sex toy company—they both had information they were keeping from each other.

With everything out in the open now, the couple is free to be exactly who they are, no more secrets.

This book is a steamy romance guaranteed to make you laugh and beg for more!

Stay tuned for more information about my upcoming book release. My next review will be for an upcoming release by Charmaine Pauls, Stolen Life.

Happy Reading ~Tara

These are a Few of My Favorite Things- Devil’s Lair

Hello everyone. Hope this post finds you well. Such a different day out my window from my last post. Today is chilly, dreary, and rainy. April showers bring May flowers and all that though, right? 🙂

As some of you may know, I’m an author myself. I’m hoping to get a newsletter started and hope you’ll all subscribe to keep in touch and see what I’m up to. I’ve also been working on a book and have some very exciting news that I hope to share with you all soon. Make sure to stay tuned.

Today’s book review is Devil’s Lair by Anna Zaires. It’s been such a long time since Ms. Zaires gave her fans a new dark romance and this one did not disappoint.

The book opens in the middle of the action. Chloe is being shot at and is running for her life. A little backstory—Chloe’s mom has passed away. The police ruled it a suicide, but Chloe knows it wasn’t suicide. She was there, she heard the men in the house, and since that day, she’s been on the run. But now, they’re on her tail, and she’s out of money—she’s hit a dead end.

She picks up a newspaper from the small town she stopped for gas in and happens to find a classified ad looking for a tutor for a young child, and it pays cash. Chloe has her education degree and needs cash, so she applies but realizes it will be a long shot.

Nikolai, our sexy and dangerous hero, is the man who placed the ad. He needs an English tutor for his young son, and Chloe has caught his attention.

From the minute he opens his door to welcome Chloe for her interview, there are sparks. Their relationship-employer and tutor, should be forbidden.

Nikolai recognizes Chloe is leaving out some details of how she ended up at his doorstep and set out to unravel the mystery.

Chloe senses the danger that surrounds Nikolai, but like a moth to a flame, she is inexplicably drawn to him.

This story is nonstop action coupled with steamy sex. Once I picked it up, I was unable to put it down. Grab yourself a copy and let yourself get pulled into Anna Zaires’ new dark romantic world!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things- Stolen Lust

Hello everyone! If you are in the northern hemisphere, I hope you are enjoying this beautiful spring weather. As I write I’m sitting by my window looking outside at the beautiful blue sky and listening to the birds singing. Although we live in a neighborhood, we’re fortunate enough to have chickens, who are all enjoying the early spring weather as well. Soon, we’ll get the garden planted! I’ll share some pictures once everything is up and going.

But on to the real reason for the post, my review of Stolen Lust by Charmaine Pauls.

If you are new to Charmaine’s books, you have some catching up to do. She has several dark romance series available that are all fantastic! I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of Stolen Lust, and it did not disappoint.

Let me set the stage: The book opens at a Casino in South Africa. Cas is on a date with a real winner, Mint. He’s the eye-rolling, book-throwing kinda jerk. After he splits the bill and makes her chip in for gas, the two set off to bring Cas home. On the way, they are carjacked. Enter Ian- the mysterious, handsome carjacker.

Like the coward I figured him to be, Mint takes off and leaves Cas at the mercy of Ian.

Terrified and certain she will be either raped or killed or worse—both, Cas is forced to drive Ian to a safe house where she ends up spending the night with him. What’s more surprising is she finds herself willingly giving her body to him.

The situation gets even more jumbled when she is returned home, unharmed, and questioned by the police about her disappearance and Mint’s stolen car.

Cas is confused and searches for Ian’s real identity.

Ian is wanted and on the run but is also totally obsessed with Cas. He can’t cut all ties to her, even if it risks his safety.

This book has so many twists and turns; it will keep you guessing at what will happen next. It also has some super steamy scenes. Ian and Cas’s chemistry is off the charts, but will their tentative attraction be able to withstand the complications being thrown at it? That’s a question I can’t answer. We’ll all have to wait for book two to find out what happens with this couple.

Stolen Lust released today and is available in Kindle edition for $4.99

Grab your copy and while you’re there, check out Charmaine’s other series!

Next up is a Devil’s Lair by one of my favorite author’s Anna Zaires!!

Until then. Happy Reading ~Tara

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

April 7, 2021

Psychological Romantic Thrillers aren’t typically my jam, UNLESS Trisha Wolfe writes it! She just released her latest Dark Psychological Thriller, Cruel. Let me tell you; it’s an intense ride. Let me set the scene: Blakely Vaughn comes from a wealthy family, but in her true psychopath nature, she has rejected her family and money to pursue her desires. Her choice of occupation—exacting justice on those who’ve wronged others. It’s all going well until Dr. Alex Chambers enters the scene. Alex is a biomedical scientist who works to find cures for diseases. He’s cute and a bit nerdy, but harmless, right?

Blakely sees the chance to use Alex to help with her plans. She neglects to see that Alex is becoming overly interested, some may say obsessed with her, and has plans of his own. What happens after that? Well, you’re going to have to read it to find out.

This story will have you asking yourself so many questions. When does finding a cure for something cross ethical lines? When does interest in someone turn into obsession and stalking?

Blakely and Alex are an unlikely duo feeling all kinds of emotions that are foreign to both of them. Wolfe has once again managed to suck me into her dark writing with this one. I can’t wait for book two!!

Cruel is currently in Amazon Kindle Unlimited. Grab yourself a copy. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

Next up is Stolen Lust By: Charmaine Pauls

Review of Rescuing Moira by Ellie Masters

Hi readers! Before I took the leap and started writing my own novels, I was an avid romance reader—still am. I’m fortunate to be a beta reader for some of my favorite authors, and I’m a member of several ARC teams. What does that mean? It means that I get to read some really great books before they even hit the shelves. Instead of keeping all that book goodness to myself, I’m going to share it with you. I just finished RESCUING MOIRA by Ellie Masters. It’s the 3rd book in her Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialist series.

This book focuses on Four (Griff) and Moira. Moira was rescued from a human trafficking situation by Griff and had been living at the Facility undergoing therapy and readjusting to life. This book opens with Moira having been kidnapped for a second time. This poor girl has the worst luck and the scars to prove it. She finds herself being held captive by two men—the situation seems impossible.

Meanwhile, back at Guardian HRS, the entire team is searching desperately for her. Griff is going out of his mind with worry because Moira seems to have disappeared off the map. He’s regretting now getting closer to her, despite her advances toward him, and he’s hoping for a second chance.

Griff is the alpha male you would expect in a good romance story. He’s honorable, determined, and sexy.

But what I want to focus on is Moira. All too often, the female character is dependent on the male for everything—a damsel in distress. That is NOT Moira. She has every reason to crawl into a corner, curl up in a ball, and cry, but she doesn’t. She also doesn’t sit around and wait for rescue. She realizes right now her survival depends solely on her. She takes the training she learned at the Facility and the self-confidence Four has instilled in her, and she uses it to survive. Her resourcefulness and her tenacity are to be admired.

I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but I’ll tell you it is a rollercoaster of emotions, hot sex, and true love. What Griff and Moira share transcends the pages of the book and weaves its way straight into your heart.

If you haven’t read books one and two, you can hop over to amazon and grab them, or you can pick up with book three- Griff and Moira. Either way, you don’t want to miss this amazing story.

Rescuing Moira is available today! https://www.amazon.com/Rescuing-Moira-Ex-Military-Guardian-Specialists-ebook/dp/B08P2V61P8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2V09DQLLG4Z6T&dchild=1&keywords=rescuing+moira+by+ellie+masters&qid=1616110354&sprefix=rescuing%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-5

Stay tuned for my review of Violent Retaliation by C.P. Mandara. Expected book release date March 25, 2021.
